Careers in Construction Month - A Diverse Landscape | Blog #6

October is Careers in Construction Month, a nationwide campaign to increase public awareness of construction careers & inspire the next generation of professionals. From the office to the shop to the field, we have a diverse group of people who all work together to create a fun and exciting atmosphere. This month we will be highlighting all the different career opportunities in the construction industry and at Ganim Company. 

Some quick facts about the construction industry (according to The Construction Association):

• In the first quarter of 2023, there were more than 919,000 construction establishments in the US. 

• The construction industry employs around 8.0 million employees each year. 

• Construction employment in Ohio in July 2023 totaled 245,300, an increase of 13,100 (5.6%) from July 2022.

• From June 2023-June 2024, there was a 2.5% increase in construction employment in Ohio. 

• From May 2023-May 2024, there was a 2.7% increase in job hires in the construction industry in the US.
